Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Sassy Coop (sassycoop.com, "we") collects, how we use it and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.

Information you give us

Email signups. When you sign up through one of our forms, we collect your email address, the form or tool you used, and details from that tool that make the emails useful. For example, if you sign up from the hatch calculator we store the species, the date you set your eggs, and the lockdown and hatch dates, so we can send reminders on the right days.

Emails you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message so we can reply.

Tool data

Our calculators run in your browser. What you type into a tool is not sent to us unless you choose to sign up for emails from that tool, as described above.

Egg Log. Your daily egg counts, notes and the names and breeds of your hens are saved only in your own browser on your device. If you sign up for the Egg Log emails, we store your email address plus your log totals (eggs this month, all-time total, average per day, flock size, date of your last entry) and your hens' names, and we refresh those totals at most once a day while you use the log, so your weekly nudge and monthly report are accurate. Your daily entries and notes stay in your browser.

Analytics and advertising tags

• Google Analytics 4 uses cookies to tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. We use it to improve the site.
• The Pinterest tag tells us when people arrive from Pinterest and what they do on the site, and helps measure Pinterest campaigns.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and manage ad personalization in your Google and Pinterest account settings.

How we use your information

• To send the emails you asked for, including tool reminders and our chicken tips.
• To tell subscribers about Sassy Coop Collection products from time to time. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To understand which pages and tools are useful, and fix what isn't.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who processes it for us

We use trusted service providers to run the site: our email service provider (Klaviyo) stores subscriber details and sends our emails; Vercel hosts the site; Google and Pinterest provide the analytics tags above. They handle data under their own privacy policies.

Sassy Coop Collection products are sold on FarmerRoots (farmerroots.com). Purchases there are covered by that store's own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of each analytics service.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@sassycoop.com. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.

Children

Sassy Coop is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes
